WHY THIS COURSE

Most AI design courses teach you to use AI tools. This one teaches you to design AI products.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. Tool fluency is not product design fluency. Knowing how to prompt is a Tuesday afternoon's worth of self-teaching. Designing AI products that people understand, trust, and choose to come back to: that is the work nobody is teaching well, and it is the work the field is failing at.

EVIDENCE, NOT VIBES

Features are cheap now. Trust is not.

AI writes the feature in minutes. It does not decide what should be automated, how confidence should be communicated, or what happens when the model is wrong. That is design work, and it is the work that pays.

+32%

Top-quartile design companies grew revenue 32 percentage points faster than industry peers over five years, and delivered 56 percentage points higher returns to shareholders. [1]

Seen and fixed beats hidden.

Users rate AI quality higher when they can see and fix a mistake. [2]

This is the return on getting human-AI experience right. The course teaches you how.

REAL WORK, NOT TOY EXAMPLES

Your product on the table.

Across the two weeks you build three artifacts on an AI product you actually ship or use. Not a classroom exercise: your real work.

The 7 Sins audit

A 7 Sins audit of one AI product you ship or use daily. Written in a format you can hand to your engineering and product peers without translation.

The redesign brief

A 6 HAX-principle redesign brief for one feature in your real work. Concrete enough to scope, opinionated enough to defend.

The case study

A portfolio-grade case study showing the before, the diagnosis, and the redesign. Usable in interviews, internal reviews, and stakeholder meetings.

The 7 Sins of AI Product Design are Christian's diagnostic frame, inspired by Irrational Labs. The 6 HAX Principles are curated from the public canon: Microsoft HAX Toolkit, Google People + AI Guidebook, Apple HIG, GitHub, the Shape of AI, aiverse.design.

NAMED PRODUCTS, REAL PATTERNS

Every principle, taught through products you know.

No invented screenshots, no lab demos. Each lesson dissects named products and names what they get right:

  • Superhuman: sells "save 4 hours a week". No AI label needed. That is Empathy First.
  • Grammarly: shows suggestions side by side and lets you pick. You stay the author. Automation vs. Augmentation, chosen deliberately.
  • Google Flights: does not say "73.4% confidence". It says "prices are unlikely to drop". Transparency people can act on.
  • Canva: applies an AI effect and reverts it in one click. Mutable clay, not marble. Real Control and Editability.
  • Replit AI: admits the bug, shows what it is trying, and lets you step in. Graceful Failure by design.
  • Apple Photos: delivers a whole mental model in three placeholder words: "Photos, People, Places…". Mental Model Shaping.

THE TWO WEEKS

Four evenings. One redesign.

  • Mon, Nov 918:00–20:00 CETLive lesson 1
  • Wed, Nov 1118:00–20:00 CETLive lesson 2
  • Mon, Nov 1618:00–20:00 CETLive lesson 3
  • Wed, Nov 1818:00–20:00 CETLive lesson 4

The arc runs from diagnosis to antidote to application: name what is broken with the 7 Sins, redesign it with the 6 HAX Principles, and defend the decisions on your own product. Live Q&A in every session; teach assistants moderate the chat queue and surface the best questions.

Can't make an evening? Sessions are recorded and posted within 24 hours, available for 6 months.

BETWEEN THE SESSIONS

Practice on your terms.

Between sessions you apply each step to the product you chose: run the audit, draft the brief, assemble the case study. The exercises are yours to do on your own schedule; nothing is graded, nothing is gated, and the recordings cover you when a week gets loud.

WHAT PRACTITIONERS SAY

Rated by people who ship AI for a living.

5.0 / 5

talk quality, webinale 2026. Conference average: 4.34.

4.67 / 5

"Don’t Make Me Prompt", DevSum Stockholm 2026.

4.64 / 5

Nordic UX event feedback. The organizer reported it as the best the event ever had.

These are ratings of Christian's conference talks and events.

“I watched every single recorded class — and I can honestly say the way I approach AI has changed. Not just as a designer, but as someone who thinks about the relationship between people and technology every day. The frameworks you built around trust, transparency, control, and graceful failure aren't concepts I'll forget — they're now part of how I evaluate every AI decision I encounter at PepsiCo.”
Nathy Tanner, PepsiCo
“Last month I finished a course on HAX with Christian Kuhn, learned a lot about how and where to push the current design patterns.”
Tiago Duarte, Product Designer

WHO THIS IS FOR

Built for people who ship.

For

  • Senior product, UX, UI, and interaction designers working on, or about to work on, AI features
  • PMs who need a shared vocabulary with their design teams for AI work
  • Product Designer and Heads of Design scoping AI initiatives across multiple teams
  • UX researchers who want to design and evaluate AI products with rigor

Not for

  • People looking for a tool tutorial. Cursor and Midjourney change weekly. The principles do not.
  • Beginners with no product experience. This course assumes you have shipped real software for real users.
  • Those looking for hype. AI is a design medium, not a magic ingredient.

QUESTIONS

The fine print, in plain language.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Live sessions are recorded and posted within 24 hours. Recordings stay available for 6 months.

What time zone are the sessions in?

18:00–20:00 CET (Copenhagen/Berlin time), Mondays and Wednesdays. If that is late or early where you are, the recordings have you covered.

Do I need a machine-learning background?

No. You need to know how to ship products. The course assumes product experience, not ML expertise.

How does Q&A work in a live session?

Teach assistants moderate the chat queue and surface the best questions.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. All participants receive a course certificate.

What is the refund policy?

14-day refund window from course start. Transfer to the next course allowed up to 7 days before the start date.

The prompt-free future is not coming. It is here.

The only question is whether you will design for it.
